With nearly 10,000 Km (6,200 Mi) Mexico is one of the top 15 countries\u00a0 with the longest coastline, and what a coastline it is! Washed by the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea on the East and the Pacific on the West, located between the 32\u00ba and 14\u00ba of latitude.<\/p>\n

The Mexican coast is very diverse, with two peninsulas and several islands it offers some of the world\u00b4s most stunning beaches, diving spots and coastal cities in the world!<\/p>\n

Coastal destinations in Mexico are becoming more interesting and relevant, as well as adapting to the new trends seen in modern travelers. These trendy explorers seek unique experience and find recreational navigation a great option to include in their vacation. This activities have great appeal among\u00a0 foreign sailors who enjoy the clear waters and good conditions of places like the Sea of Cortes or the Mexican Caribbean.<\/p>\n

The increase in maritime activities has brought important investments in Marinas where roughly 10,000 vessels are welcomed every year according to the Assosciation of Recreational Marinas (AMMT), with 32 marinas currently active in Mexico.<\/p>\n

La Paz, where three new marinas are expected to be built is a great example of this growth.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Baja\u00b4s Maritime Tourism Growth<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The growth of recreational yachting and watersports in La Paz has been such that there are currently no more spots for new vessels in the existing marinas. To face such a challenge, the Baja Sur Port Administration (APIBCS) announced the construction of three new marinas in La Paz. These marinas will represent a joint investment of 100 million pesos ($5\u00b4000,000 USD) accoding to Narciso Ag\u00fandez, director of APIBCS in a yearly report.<\/p>\n

The American market continues to grow and yacht builders are placing more vessels on the water than ever before. However, the amount of slips in the US has not been able to catch up with this growth. Mexican coasts offer a good option for these yachts to find their home in Mexican destinations, specially in the Pacific and the Sea of Cortes but also in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n

This conditions present opportunities for developments that combine marinas with maritime services, recreational spaces, residential, lodging and commercial areas.<\/p>\n

According to Newmark, most Mexican marinas welcome vessels between 25 and 125 ft, with foreign crew and travelers mainly (80%) and with increasing frequency during winter and summer. Yachts find in them a place to re-supply, as well as electricity, fresh water, safety, fuel and dry docks.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
